Beginning next month, there is a new face and voice in the community at Unity Atlanta in Peachtree Corners. The Rev. Jennifer L. Sacks has been named senior minister of the church upon the retirement of the Rev. John Strickland and will lead her first Sunday service on Nov. 5.

Sacks says her mission is to inspire, encourage and support others, and she looks forward to getting to know her new neighbors in and around Unity Atlanta. “Connecting spiritually with ourselves and with one another can transform our lives and our whole world. With so much global turmoil and divisiveness surrounding us each day, I am passionate about helping others find comfort in community and know we are all part of something greater,” she says.

Originally from New Jersey, Sacks most recently served as senior minister of Unity of Gainesville, Florida, and Unity of Grand Rapids, Michigan, prior to that. She earned a Master of Divinity from Unity Institute & Seminary and has a master’s in literature and a bachelor’s in sociology from American University in Washington, DC. Her diverse background includes working as a high school English teacher, educational trainer, advocacy journalist, editor and public relations executive.

Located at 3597 Parkway Lane in Peachtree Corners, Unity Atlanta is a church of the Daily Word and Silent Unity, the worldwide prayer ministry of Unity. The church offers services and ministries for the whole family, including two Sunday morning services, a Wednesday night prayer service, an active youth program and a variety of adult education classes.
