Last week Comcast officially celebrated the opening of its southeast headquarters located in the Wells Building in Peachtree Corners with a ribbon-cutting at a Gwinnett Chamber After-Hours event.
Last year Governor Nathan Deal, in partnership with Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development, had announced that Comcast, the nation’s largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to residential customers, had selected Peachtree Corners, as the site of its new regional headquarters, adding 150 new jobs and relocating the company’s existing 532 full-time local employees.
The company renovated 88,000 square feet on four floors of the Peachtree Corners office building and last fall moved from its former location to state-of-the-art facilities which included a high-tech demonstration lab, and a Comcast University space for employee training and continuing education.
“We are very pleased to officially welcome Comcast to our business community,” said Mayor Mike Mason. “Peachtree Corners continues to draw top-tiered technology companies like Comcast. Our zero-millage rate offers a great incentive for businesses to locate here.”
Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA) is a global media and technology company with two primary businesses, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal. NBCUniversal operates news, entertainment and sports cable networks, the NBC and Telemundo broadcast networks, television production operations, television station groups, Universal Pictures and Universal Parks and Resorts.
Comcast is one of Georgia’s largest employers operating nearly 190 facilities around the state.
