BJ Van Gundy, 2016 RNC delegate and former State GOP Vice Chairman, joins us Thursday, September 29 for a conversation about politics, presidential and otherwise.

BJ Van Gundy’s first vote was for Ronald Reagan in 1980 and for the last 25 years he’s been a continuous member of the Gwinnett County GOP (Georgia). His grassroots leadership positions (in addition to numerous positions with campaigns) includes Gwinnett GOP Chairman 1996-1999, 6th District GOP Chairman 1999-2001, 7th District Chairman 2005-2009, and Vice-Chairman of the Georgia GOP 2009-2013 (a total of 10 years on the State Executive Committee and 18 years on the State Committee) In 2013 BJ ran for State GOP Chairman and lost the election, out of 2000, by ~25 votes.
BJ has also been a member of the Georgia GOP Rules Committee, the State GOP Appeals Committee and has chaired the State Convention Credentials Committee 6 of the last 12 years.
In his professional life, BJ was a banker in the ‘90s, a lobbyist for several years, and has been a partner in a management consulting firm, e2 Assure, for the last 10 years. The firm specializes in government process improvement and revenue enhancement. As an entrepreneur, he also has interests in a small merchandising company, and has recently acquired his FFL and has started a “boutique” firearm dealership.
His community service includes having served as Board Chairman of the Georgia Charter School Association and being a charter member of the first Georgia Charter School Commission. He has served as Worthy Advocate to Knights of Columbus Council 11402 for the last 6 years and his favorite charity is the Georgia Special Olympics.
BJ is a Georgia Tech Alumnus and lives in Peachtree Corners, Georgia with his wife, Christy and 4 children. They attend All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody.
