Eric Christ’s 25-year career includes general management, marketing, and product management positions with leading information technology companies. Eric is currently the CEO of PracticeAdmin with responsibility for all operations of the company. PracticeAdmin is a Software-as-a-Service provider of practice management solutions to medical billing companies and medical practices. Before joining PracticeAdmin, Eric was president of Patient Placement Systems, a vendor of Web-based applications that connected hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and other continuing care providers to automate their admissions and discharge planning processes.
Eric is a member of the board of directors of the Healthcare Administrative Technology Association trade group and of the Atlanta Technology Executive Roundtable industry association. He also served a two-year term as a board member of the National Association for the Support of Long-term Care trade group.
Eric came to Patient Placement Systems from McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 15 provider of healthcare software and services. During four years at McKesson, Eric held several positions, including vice president of marketing and product development, vice president of operations, and interim CIO for McKesson’s subsidiary in the United Kingdom. In these positions, he provided executive leadership for operations, product management, business development, market research, and marketing communications.
Before joining McKesson, Eric was the senior vice president for product delivery at 1stAg Corporation, an early-stage, agribusiness e-commerce venture funded by Noro-Moseley Partners. He led the Marketing, Product Management, Customer Support, Product Development and Operations departments.
Eric spent eight years at Harbinger Corporation, a leading electronic commerce software and services provider. His last position was senior director of portal solutions where he developed the brand identity and national marketing strategy for harbinger.net, an Internet-based electronic commerce portal. In 18 months, his team created $16 million in new revenue through the innovative packaging and delivery of Harbinger’s e-commerce software and services for business-to-business marketplaces in the United States, Europe, Australia, and South Africa.
Prior to joining Harbinger, Eric was a product manager for Bell Atlantic’s telephone calling card product line. Before that, he was the manager of online information services at Knowledge Resources in Washington, DC.
He has a Master in Business Administration degree from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he was a Robert Woodruff Fellow and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma national business honor society. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a double-major in marketing and international management from Georgetown University.
He has earned the HIMSS Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation and a dual certification from the AIPMM as a Certified Product Manager (CPM) and Certified Product Marketing Manager (CPMM).
Eric is active in the healthcare, electronic commerce and Internet industries as an author, speaker, and contributor for such organizations as the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Health Care Association, the Data Interchange Standards Association, the Electronic Messaging Association, and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
Eric lives in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, with his wife, Maureen McIvor, a former BellSouth and IBM sales manager, and their two daughters, Kiernan (b. 2001) and Moira (b. 2004). Eric serves on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Peachtree Corners. In his free time, Eric enjoys scuba diving and high-altitude hiking.
