2010 Peachtree Corners CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Season is Here!!

CSA Veggies

After a looooooong and unusually chilly winter, I am more than ready for the 2010 Peachtree Corners CSA (community supported agriculture) season to kick-off! I crave the day (and it’s coming soon!!) when I receive my box of freshly picked, organic, locally-grown produce from our partner farm, Riverview Farms.

Spring 2010 Season

May 26th- June 30th (6 weeks)

$160 Subscription Deadline: May 12th

Examples of what to expect during the spring season: strawberries, broccoli, radishes, onions, garlic, kale, peas, beans, swiss chard, lettuces of many varieties and toward the end of the 6 weeks, summer veggies, like those shown in the picture and much more!

My good friend, Sustainable Pattie (Baker) of Sustainable Dunwoody fame :) recently wrote a blog post about her CSA experience. If you’re on the fence about participating in a CSA, her article is a good piece to read (and includes lots of good pictures). Click here to read it.

In addition, CSA members can also subscribe to 100% whole grain fresh baked homemade bread from 13 Moons (ala Karen Ford, fellow CSA member and one of the founders of Sustainable Peachtree Corners). The bread is made with freshly milled flour (made with wheat berries and baked with immediately), organic hard red wheat, hard white wheat, local raw honey, sea salt, and virgin olive oil. My girls and I are pleasantly addicted to this wholesome treat and use it for everything from sandwiches to french toast.
