There is another opportunity for parents and new teen drivers to attend a safe driving course that will be offered here in our community for those unable to attend the previous course.
Norcross High School is hosting a class on Thursday, October 15th and Saturday, October 17th featuring Fear This, Inc., a well regarded non-profit driving program.
This program provides behind-the-wheel driving exercises as well as class room training. All of the instructors are “Academy Trained Gwinnett County Police Officers.” I can personally say that I have attended this course with both of my teenage boys several years ago and can’t say enough great things about it. The course was previously offered on a Friday/Saturday format and there were many complaints because of Friday night athletic events being a conflict.
This time the classroom portion is Thursday, October 15th at 7:00 pm – 9:30 p.m. The behind-the-wheel portion of the course is scheduled on October 17th at Grayson High School, 50 Hope Hollow Road, Loganville, GA.
Pre-registration is required; both teen and parent will be issued a completion certificate for possible insurance discounts. This course can be a life-saving gift you give to your teen, especially before they head off to college and deal with driving the interstates and two-lane country roads. For more information please visit www.fearthis4life.org or www.tvoc.ws . You may also contact Woodrow Gaines in person at 770-823-7823.
[According to it’s website it is the only advanced training course for teens endorsed by John Oxendine, State of Georgia Insurance Commissioner. It is an 8 hour class teaching teens accidents avoidance skills, designed and taught by P.O.S.T. Certified Police Academy Instructors.]
